21 months old and August is almost over!!

This Summer was so wonderful. Two of my bestfriends got married and I was there standing right beside them as a bridesmaid and maid of honor as they married men that I totally love for them, Ezra has grown leaps and bounds and we have truly enjoyed every weekend together, going to the beach, zoo, park, horse farm etc.
Now the Summer is coming to an end...it's sad, but I love the Fall. I love the smell in the air and the anticipation for all of the holidays that our family celebrates. Now in addition to all of those lovely family celebrations, we have Ezra's birthday as well! He will be two years old in three months. I can't believe it. He speaks so much now. He makes sentences and can even tell short stories. The word LOVE is not even enough to describe how I feel about this little being. He is my world.
2010 has been a great year for both of us and I can't wait to see what September brings. I go back to school in three weeks to continue with my MBA. That should be interesting and keep me busy, or busier than I already am :) My sister is moving back East with her boyfriend, so it will be nice for her to finally be in the same time zone!
Cheers to a great two last weeks of Summer! We are off to the Cape for a family weekend.

Life is Beautiful AGAIN!

The past two months of 2010 have been the most amazing spiritually that I have experienced in years. I am so satisified with every facet of my life. Ezra is growing day by day. Everyday he learns something new and surprises me. I am in awe of him and in awe of this perfect human that I created. It blows me away. Nyangusi has been horrible at keeping in touch. Typical. His relationship with Ezra will be whatever he makes of it. As of now it is non-existent. Thank god my father has really stepped up his game. He sees Ezra three to four times a week and Ezra loves every moment of it. I met an amazing man who continues to prove to me that I am deserving of love. I never thought I would find a man that would love me even though i'm a Mama. Everything that Nyangusi was this man is the polar opposite. It's like the first rain after a drought. It's like a perfect Spring day when the lilacs are in bloom. This Spring is the most beautiful I can remember. All the trees are shining. The air smells like honeydew melon and people are all smiling. Life is good. Life is beautiful AGAIN!

12 Days of uncertainty

In twelve days my sons life and my life will change forever. In twelve days my marriage will be over as I know it. Almost six years........over. I have extremely mixed feelings about this. I have wonderful memories, I have grown in leaps and bounds and of course I have the most beautiful child in the universe. I have also suffered emotionally and psychologically due to my husband for many years now, but it was only about a year ago that I really woke up and realized it. I can't take it anymore and thus, he is leaving, going back to his home country. Ezra will know that his Baba loved him with his whole heart, but that he needs to be with his people in his land. The land of the Maasai and that is Mama would never leave him and needs to be in her land with her extremely supportive family. A country that has wonderful education, healthcare, clean water and an abudance of opportunities. Hopefully one day he will understand.
